Mary’s Unexpected Gift: How The Rosary Led Me To Peace

Hey sis! Remember how I mentioned feeling overwhelmed by any other prayer type than the adoration prayer? Well, dear, a wonderful change has occurred! The insight I received today struck me with a sense of divine grace. It dawned on me that I was avoiding Mary’s suffering, which is actually the source of her great strength – her steadfast faith.

Finding My Strength in Mary's "Yes"

The angel appeared to Mary, announcing she would bear the Son of God. Imagine the fear, the uncertainty! However, Mary, who was full of grace, responded with a resounding “Yes!” Her obedience and acceptance of God’s plan serve as a profound lesson. The beauty of that obedience touches me so profoundly. Her “Yes” shines as a symbol of dedication. Is it possible for me to embrace God’s will with a similar courage, even in moments of fear?

Unexpected Peace Through the Rosary

Never thought I’d say this, but the rosary? It’s become my new best friend! The rosary, with its focus on Mary and the mysteries of Jesus’ life, brought a calmness I never understood before. The quiet focus on the Hail Marys, or the contemplation of her journey became a sacred space for me to connect with God.

Mary's Humility

But Mary’s strength goes beyond simple obedience. Consider the humility she displayed throughout her life. Despite being chosen to bear the Christ child, she remained a humble servant (Luke 1:46-48). In her Magnificat, she sings praises not of herself, but of God’s mercy and power. Mary’s humility is a constant reminder that true strength comes from surrendering to God’s will, not from seeking personal glory.

The Need for Sacrifice

There is a strong yearning inside me to lead a life that is deserving of eternal life. However, the truth is, dear sister: genuine life is attained by putting aside our own desires (Matthew 16:24). It is not about being afraid of death or living a sorrowful existence. It is about submitting our wants to God’s plan. This does not imply abandoning our aspirations of a glorious place in heaven. Rather, the focus changes from earning a grand abode to aligning our hearts with God. Presenting our daily challenges, the minor sacrifices we make each day – refraining from gossip, choosing to be kind, practicing patience – transform into expressions of love for Him. Just as Mary had to confront challenges in saying “Yes” to God, our “Yes” may involve releasing things that hinder us. It is a beautiful voyage of development, and Mary’s steadfast faith serves as a profound source of motivation. Click here to learn more about how your sacrifice can bring you freedom

sacrifice brings peace

Sister in Christ, Mary’s journey has been a revelation. Fearing her sorrows, I missed their power – a testament to her faith. But through the rosary, I’ve found an unexpected gift: peace. It’s a sacred space for connection, not about earning heaven.  By embracing Mary’s strength, I’m learning to embrace God’s will too. This faith journey is beautiful. Let’s walk it together!
