Greetings, beloved souls! Today, I share the sacred Christian life skills that not only saved my life but also put me into a profound transformation guided by the light of Christ
1. Discernment
First of all, the most important skill since embarking on my Christian journey is to receive the precious gift of discernment. Discernment is the ability to decipher what aligns with God’s plan, being able to recognize the essence of situations, and navigating your choices that resonate with God’s plan. This verse “But solid food is for the mature, for those who have their powers of discernment trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil.” – Hebrews 5:14 (ESV), encouraged me to mature in myfaith, honing the gift of discernment through continuous practice and feeling in into the Holy Spirit. By seeking God’s guidance and staying rooted in His Word, we develop the ability to distinguish between what is aligned with His will and what is not.
2. Emotional Control and Self Regulation Through Jesus
Now, the second skill i’ve develop on this journey is emotional control. From a Christian perspective, emotional control is the art of choosing Christ-centered responses to the world ups and down. Acquiring a robust sense of self in Christ has endowed me with the capacity to effectively manage and navigate the various fluctuations and challenges encountered in life. “I can do all things through him who strengthens me” Philippians 4:13 (ESV). This verse reminds me that my strength comes from Christ. By anchoring our emotions in Him, we can respond to life’s challenges with His peace and resilience.
3. Placing God Before me
Moving forward, the third shift that happen on my Christian journey is putting God before me. It’s responding to His call before others, prioritizing His teachings, and understanding that nurturing your relationship with Christ allows you to pour into others from a place of His abundance. “I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken” For me this verse emphasizes the commitment to maintain a focus on God, seeking His guidance and presence in all aspects of life.
4. Cultivating my unique gift for a Kingdom Impact
Furthermore, learning a skill with purpose is a divine endeavor. Choose a skill that aligns with your Christian values, allowing you to contribute to the Kingdom while cultivating the unique gifts bestowed upon you by the Creator.“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms” 1 Peter 4:10 (NIV). This verse encourages us to use our God-given talents to serve others, emphasizing the importance of being faithful stewards of His grace. This verse has help me to hone in a skill according to God’s plan and not get involved with a deceitful business endavor
5. Making Powerful Decisions Anchored in Faith
In addition, every decision is an opportunity for faith to take root. Opt for decisions that align with your Christian values, propelling you forward in God’s plan. Identify areas of your life that need to be surrendered to Him, seeking His guidance in your journey. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths” Proverbs 3:5-6 (ESV). This proverbs encourages us to trust in God rather than relying solely on our understanding. By acknowledging Him in our decisions, He guides our paths toward His perfect plan.
6. Embracing Change through Faith
Moreover, as you journey with Christ, change becomes a testament to your faith. Cultivate a Christian growth mindset, embracing the lessons within difficulties. Surrender to the process with joy, knowing that every change is orchestrated by the Almighty for your highest good.“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope” Jeremiah 29:11 (ESV). This comforting verse assures us that God’s plans are filled with hope and a future. Embracing change with faith means trusting that God’s purpose is for our welfare, even when we cannot fully comprehend it. This verse is also helpful to embrace the fluid nature of God and to never get attached to a plan. Be ok when plans are changing. God is re-routing you. Only be attached to the truth of God and that is the most important aspect
